GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police are eyeing illegal drugs as the motive behind the killing Monday of a ranking official of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Koronadal City police chief Barney Condes said the killing of Noel Dungca, DENR-12 regional project coordinator based here had something to do with illegal drugs.
Police said two unidentified gunmen riding on a motorcycle shot Dungca, 54, while he was riding his motorcycle in San Antonio Subdivision, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Koronadal City, at around 9 a.m. Monday.
The victim sustained bullet wounds in the head and body borne from a .45 caliber pistol.
However, police probers refused to confirm if the victim was a drug pusher or merely a drug user. (Joseph Jubelag)
