The anti-colorum campaign led by joint operation of transportation and traffic officials netted 11 “colorum” and out of line vehicles, including one driven by a police officer, in surprise operations yesterday morning.
Crisanto Saruca, MMDA Traffic Discipline Office (TDO) head, said the operations were conducted around 6 a.m. in four areas in Metro Manila.
Apprehended were six Asian Utility Vans (AUV) in Balintawak area; two out-of-line vans at Mindanao Avenue; one AUV on Edsa-Heritage Hotel area; and one public utility vehicle and one van on A. Bonifacio Road.
The operation was led by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the Land Transportation Office (LTO), and Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
Composite teams randomly flagged down private vehicles and public utility buses and checked their registration and franchise.
One out-of-line van flagged down was driven by PO3 Divino de Asis Darwin, assigned to Makati City police.
