Treat Huey’s ambitious bid of making into his first Grand Slam finals appearance was foiled Thursday night after he and Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi succumbed in the semifinals of the Wimbledon doubles.
Huey and Mirnyi failed to sustain their momentum and yielded to French top seed duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut, 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4, after three hours at the grasscourt.
Tied at 4-all in the deciding set, Huey and Mirnyi lost their steam in the next two games. (Kristel Satumbaga)
