Veteran actress Vivian Velez launched a fund-raising campaign for character actor Dick Israel whose house was gutted in Caloocan City fire recently.
“Dick Israel is in dire need of aid after a fire razed his house in Caloocan City on Saturday;
“The actor, 57, had already fallen on hard times after he suffered a stroke in 2010 that left half his body paralyzed and impaired his speech; “Damay Kamay” is the coordinator of the fundraising campaign for our dear friend and co actor Dick Israel. Any support will be highly appreciated by us. Please take a photo of the deposit slip and send it to me or Damay Kamay so we can account for it,” said Velez on Facebook.

Drop off points for goods is located at 7A Sta. Elvira St., Brgy Kapitolyo Pasig City, she added.
Damay Kamay is an organization founded by concerned artists in the entertainment industry to provide assistance for artists in need during medical emergencies.
Velez worked with Israel in films namely “Nag-aapoy na Dagat,” “Escolta: Mayo 13…Biyernes ng Hapon,” and “Gameng.”
Last weekend, Facebook user Sidemiod Francisco Datanam said that the character actor is a fire victim who needs financial assistance.
