British lawyer Isabelle Claisse is set to run 500 kilometers this month to raise funds for her Pinay maid’s son who is fighting cancer.
Earlier this year, Singapore based lawyer shaved her head to raise funds $63,000 (P2.9 million) for her Pinay maid’s son, Dave Caba who is battling cancer, as reported by the Straits Times.
Eleven-year-old Dave, who lives in the Philippines, has previously undergone two operations to replace a cancerous bone in his leg with an implant, and also a completed chemotherapy.
However, Dave needs to undergo another procedure after contracting an infection in his leg.
Claisse aims to raise more funds to help Dave’s medical treatments by running 17 kilometers to and from work every day, putting in extra distances over the weekends to clock a total of 500 kilometers by the end of the month.
Claisse aims to raise $12,000 to support the medication and treatment of Dave. She is also appealing to people and corporations to sponsor her for every kilometer she runs. “Every little amount will help. It will be a gift that will keep on giving for the next 10 years,” she said.
Claisse has made a Facebook page to document her 500-km run for Dave. (Marjorie Tee Sia/MB Online)
