Model-fitness trainer Sam Ajdani, who will represent the Philippines in the biennial Mr. World pageant in United Kingdom on July 19, said on Thursday that he does not want to pose nude in photo shoots or modelling ads just to become popular.
“I don’t think I’ll do it. There were no offers for me to do that but really, I don’t like it,” said Ajdani, when asked about nudity in modelling, during press send-off held in Timog, Quezon City.
Ajdani, however, said that he has high respects for other fashion models who have stripped their clothes off for lucrative modelling assignments abroad.
“I really respect them for that,” said Ajdani, who enjoys sports and travelling.
On Friday, July 8, Ajdani left for the United Kingdom to compete in the world’s most prestigious male pageant.
Ajdani will face-off against 50 candidates in five challenges during the contest: Talent, Fashion and Style, Extreme Challenge, Sports, and Multi-Media.
“I feel like I’m in a good place right now and I’m ready to enjoy this exciting journey. The real prize and honor is representing the country,” said the top male model.
Ajdani, who has been staying in the Philippines for six years now, said that he would be travelling to the UK alone.
The 6’2 tall model said that he is in a relationship these days with a Brazilian model based in the Philippines but in China right now for a modelling stint.
He said that his girlfriend wished him all the best in his journey to the pageant.
It would be recalled that the 25-year-old Filipino-Persian model was declared Mr. World Philippines 2016 on May 29, 2014, along with John Spainhour who was then declared Mr. World Philippines 2014.
Ajdani said that he underwent rigorous physical training as well as Q&A training under the supervision of Jonas Gaffud, mentor of reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, and his team of pageant specialists.
He also said that he avoids junk food but he loves adobo and kebab. He hits the gym all the time for free weights, calisthenics and cardiovascular exercises.
Ajdani thanked Mr. World Philippines chairman Arnold Vegafria for his support. The Mr. World Philippines is in partnership with ALV Events International.
In 2013, we almost clinched the crown by a matter of points. This year, we are confident that Sam will make pageant history ad do our country proud once more. This isn’t about good looks alone. It;s more about purpose, character and integrity, which are the more essential traits for someone we can truly call a man of the world,” said Vegafria.
