Defending champion San Beda bared its fangs on University of Perpetual Help with a dominating 95-63 triumph yesterday to remain unscathed in the NCAA juniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Joshua Tagala led the seven-time titlist with a double-double performance of 15 points and 12 rebounds while dishing off four steals as the Red Cubs extended their winning streak to four.
Sam Abu Hijle also shone for San Beda with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Prince Etrata had 10 markers and eight assists to bolster the team’s bid of an eighth straight title.
The Red Cubs overpowered the Junior Altas all throughout, leading by as many as 32 as they took advantage of the latter’s 31 turnovers.
In the other game, Jose Rizal University downed San Sebastian, 68-60.
