Police are hunting down a 38-year-old man who allegedly strangled his estranged wife inside the victim’s house in Malabon City Tuesday night.
Police said the body of Samelyn Gonzales, 34, vendor, was found by her daughter at about 7:40 p.m. inside her house in Barangay Longos, Malabon City. The victim had a strangulation mark on the neck.
Probers learned from the victim’s daughter Esmila that her mother had a quarrel with her father Esteban Gonzales, 38, over their relationship inside the victim’s house at Dagat-dagatan, Longos, at about 3 p.m., Tuesday.
She overheard that her father threatened to kill her mother.
It was learned that the couple was living separately. The victim lived with her daughter in Longos, Malabon, while the suspect stayed in Barangay Tangos, Navotas.
Police Officer 3 Alexander dela Cruz said jealousy could have triggered the suspect to kill his wife.
