President Duterte appreciates the high public trust in his leadership based on a recent survey and remains committed to fulfill his sworn mandate to the nation, Malacañang said yesterday.
A Social Weather Stations survey showed that the new Philippine leader earned an “excellent” net public trust rating of 79 percent at the start of his six-year term.
“I am sure he would appreciate the trust and he would also say, if I know him, that trabaho lang ‘yan. That’s part of the job and that we will continue to do our part,” Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said during an interview with reporters in Malacañang.
Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Martin Andanar also welcomed the survey results, saying it was “very encouraging” the people trusts the Duterte presidency.
“It’s a positive sign and very encouraging to know that the people trust the judgment, decisions, and actions of the President,” Andanar said. “The mandate is clear, the government cannot stop what it has started,” he added.
