“Please do not take me seriously.”
These were the words of Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, second child of President Duterte, who posted on Instagram that she was recording her debut album last Thursday.
“It was a Bilibid prisoner recording joke. Please do not take me seriously. Pastilan. Haaaayysst,” said Inday Sara, one day after she cracked the joke on social media.
“Recording my first solo album at Colang Recording Studio with my Phelps Dodge boss Ma’am Mercy. Please support my first single ‘Walang Forever,’” she said last Wednesday on Instagram.
Sara, 38, is the first female mayor of Davao City. She is also the youngest to be elected in the position in the city’s political history.
A lawyer by profession like her father, the presidential daughter is married to lawyer Manases “Mans” R. Carpio, nephew of Ombudsman Conchita Morales-Carpio. They have two children – an adopted daughter nicknamed Sharkey and son Mateo, nicknamed Stingray.
Sara is the daughter of the President by her first marriage to Elizabeth Zimmerman. The President and Zimmerman have separated although the former wife has expressed support to the presidency of her former husband.
She is also the sister of elder brother Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and youngest brother Sebastian.
In 2011, Sara figured in a controversy when she punched four times a court sheriff who insisted to demolish houses at a contested property in Barangay Soliman in Davao City.
In 2014, Sara was apprehended by traffic enforcers for speeding along Quimpo Boulevard.
in 2015, Sara shaved her head to convince her father to run for president. That time, Mayor Digong said that he doesn’t want to run for president citing health reasons. But he changed his mind and ran. President Duterte is now serving as the 16th President of the Philippines.
Authorities said that Sara violated the 40 kilometers per hour mandatory speed limit along Quimpo Boulevard. She was then driving at 57 kph.
Reports saiid that traffic enforcers were at first hesitant to apprehend her when thru saw her. But Sara insisted that her driver’s license be confiscated.
In April 2016, Sara revealed that she was a rape victim following the rape joke made by her father during the campaign period.
But her father dismissed her revelations and even called her “drama queen.”
