RHIAN EQUALS VILMA: The greatest challenge, says Rhian Ramos, was how to equal, not even top, the performance of Vilma Santos in the original film.
In preparation for the TV adaptation of the 1992 drama classic Sinungaling Mong Puso, the cast of its TV version was shown the film, a huge box office hit in its time.
Rhian says she was deeply moved by the film, and especially by Vilma’s acting. Tasked to reprise the female lead role in the story, the young actress says it still scares her just imagining how she could match Vilma’s performance.
‘I leave it all up to my director,’ she said at the program’s media launch.
She added: “Pressured ako since it’s Ms.Vilma, pero kasi the advice given to me is do it my own way. Hopefully, people will appreciate my work.’’

GMA got the rights to adapt the film for television from Lily Monteverde of Regal Films.
The producers state that they have come up with a modernized version that shows a woman’s discovery of her self-worth and the sacrifices she makes in her relentless pursuit of true love.
Taking over the Gabby Concepcion role is Rafael Rosell. Kiko Estrada essays the Aga Muhlach character while new talent Jazz Ocampo reprises Aiko Melendez’s part.

She perseveres in the loveless marriage until she accidentally meets a young man who will love her for real.
Completing the cast are Michael de Mesa, Glydel Mercado, Cheska Diaz, Sherilyn Reyes, Stephanie Sol, JC Tiuseco.
