Actress Shaina Magdayao has called on the parents of her niece – sister Vina Morales and Cedric Lee – to let go of their ego for the welfare of their daughter.
“Sana ibaba na ang mga ego ng mga taong involve kasi ang welfare ng pamangkin ko ang nagsa-suffer,” said Magdayao, during an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
“She’s seven years old. Let’s spare her from the issues. Hindi naman deserving na ma-stress ‘yung bata just because may mga wants ang mga matatanda sa paligid nya,” said Magdayao, one of the stars of new movie “Dukot.”
Her latest film “Dukot” also stars Enrique Gil, Ricky Davao and Christopher de Leon. It is directed by Paul Soriano.
Magdayao, 26, said that she’s happy her niece is with them again. “My pamangkin right now is with us again. Nasa korte pa yung kaso at napaka-sensitive nung situation. She’s okay. She’s better, she’s with us.”
In June, Vina and Cedric got involved in another controversy when they fought for the custodial rights of their daughter. They broke up in 2009.
Morales, 40, has vowed to fight Lee in court. Lee has denied the allegations of her former girlfriend Morales. The businessman claimed that the actress owed him 10 days with their daughter.
Apart from showbiz, Magdayao said that she is busy with several businesses.
“Mas hands-on ‘yung panganay kong sister sa Ystilo salon. Hands-on ako sa pagpo-promote. Ang Ystilo pinaubaya ko yan sa mga ate ko;
“Dun kami nagsimula, Maybe because apat na babae kami abd you know naman girls we love pampering ourselves. Nagpapa-treat kami every week;
“So sabi namin bakit hindi na lang tayo mag put up ng salon. And 10 years after, marami na rin at heto pa rin kami,” Magdayao said.
The actress added that she is involved in a children’s activity and play center business run by Smile Group Philippines.
“Hands-on ako dito. We specialize in science, technology, engineering and math. It’s an after-school program and we have partner schools. It enhances the skills of kids from 4 to 14 years old,” Magdayao said.
