Eight suspected fixers working at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) were arrested the other day following a tip from customer who failed to claim from one of them his non-professional driver’s license.
A joint operation by the LTO and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) led to the arrest of one Rudy Baquilan, and seven other fixers found loitering at the LTO main office along East Avenue in Quezon City.
The operation was carried out after Luisito O. Besas Jr. complained to LTO security officer Musa Kabalo that he had been swindled by Baquilan. He admitted he had transacted with Baquilan to get him a non-professional driver’s license for R1,500 but he could not deliver.
Baquilan also refused ro return his money, said Besas.
Along with operatives of QCPD’s Kamuning Station, LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday collared Baquilan. (Vanne Elaine Terrazola)
