KAPUSO star Louise delos Reyes has said that she is not interested in posing for men’s magazines despite positive comments from her fans that she has the beauty and figure to flaunt.
“Ayoko po talagang mag-FHM,” said delos Reyes, 23, when asked if she’s ready to pose for the popular glossy magazine for men, during a press conference for the movie “Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli” at 77 Limbaga Cafe, Timog, Quezon City.
In 1984, delos Reyes was ranked No. 80 among the 100 sexiest Filipinas, according to an online poll of FHM Philippines magazine.
De los Reyes has said that she keeps herself fit by going to the gym and eating healthy. She is currently seen in the GMA fantasy-drama afternoon series “Magkaibang Mundo” opposite Juancho Triviño.
It was year 2000 when delos Reyes started acting on the show “Ang TV 2” on ABS-CBN. She also joined several local beauty pageants and won.
In 2011, delos Reyes was launched in the series “Alakdana” on GMA. She also starred in other successful television programs such as “Mundo Mo’y Akin,” “Kambal Sirena,” “Pari ‘Koy,” “My Faithful Husband,” etc.
‘Hermano Puli’
In the movie, De los Reyes plays the role of Hermana Lina, love interest of Hermano Puli (played by Aljur Abrenica), an almost forgotten early 19th century preacher from Lucban, Quezon who led a movement against the Spanish colonial government half a century before the martyrdom of Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Juan Luna.
“Noong ipinakita sa akin ’yung script sabi ko wow okay ito. May action pa! Excited talaga ako. In the end hindi na rin ginawa ’yung action scenes para sa akin,” she said.
It would be recalled that “Hermano Puli” pulled out of the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival due to lack of funds. The highly anticipated historical drama will now be shown in local cinemas in September.
De los Reyes recalled that one of the challenges of doing the film was shooting during rainy days.
“Mahirap ’yung shoot namin dahil may mga araw na maulan, maputik. Pero tiniis po namin ’yun para matapos ang pelikula,” she said.
‘Miss X’
Gil Portes, director of “Hermano Puli,” said that he wanted De los Reyes to star in the remake of the sexy-drama movie “Miss X,” originally portrayed by Vilma Santos in 1980.
Portes said that there are plans to reboot the film which tells the story of a Filipina who was victimized by an illegal recruiter and ended up as a window prostitute in Amsterdam. It was written by Ricky Lee.
The multi-awarded director informally offered the film to Elvie de los Reyes, mother of the Kapuso actress, after the presscon for “Hermano.”
At first Mrs. De los Reyes could not react to the offer of Portes. But she later agreed and said: “Oo!”
“Miss X” won Best Original Musical score at the 1981 FAMAS for the theme song “Dito Ba?” performed by Kuh Ledesma.
