ACTRESS Ai-Ai de las Alas can now remarry after the Quezon City regional trial court (RTC) granted her petition to enforce the foreign divorce decree in the Philippines.
“We are pleased to send you a copy of the QC RTC’s decision granting your petition to enforce the foreign Divorce Decree in this country thereby capacitating you to remarry,” according to the letter dated July 22.
De las Alas, 51, said that she is single again now that the court has granted her petition to divorce her former husband Jed Salang.
“Ha ha hah haa wohoooooooooo finally – mega super single nako ..Yesssssssss!!!!!!” said De las Alas. After she posted a copy of the decision on Instagram last Saturday.
De las Alas and Salang got married in Las Vegas on April 3, 2013.
After one month, the couple separated after the actress accused him of physical abuse.
De las Alas has been in a relationship with Gerald Sibayan, 22, for more than two years now.
In an interview with PEP in December 2015, the actress shared her thoughts about getting married to Sibayan, 22.
“Oo, puwede na, ika-third year, puwede na. Naghihintay lang ako ng tamang panahon para diyan. Or kung ano yung tinadhana ng panahon para sa aming dalawa,” De las Alas said.
“Alam naman nating bata pa si Gerald. Pero hindi naman sa edad yun. Ang kanya lang gusto, stable siya. Mature ang pag-iisip, e. Ang parati niyang iniisip, ‘Anong ipapakain ko kay Martina (totoong pangalan ni Ai-Ai)?’” she added.
Sibayan is a former star player of the DLSU Badminton team.
In 2012, Sibayan was named “Rookie of the Year” by University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
He is presently taking Sports Management at DLSU and he also dreams of becoming a pilot.
De las Alas has acted as manager of the DLSU badminton team.
Sibayan met the actress through Sancho, son of the comedienne, who is studying at the DLSU.
De las Alas was previously married to actor Miguel Vera by whom she has two children. She has another son from a previous relationship.
The actress is currently seen in Kapuso shows “Sunday PinaSaya,” “Hay, Bahay!” and Laff! Camera! Action!” She was last seen in the hit comedy movie “My Bebe Love” last December 2015.
