The Armed Forces of the Philippines-Western Mindanao Command said yesterday that three of their personnel have tested positive for illegal drug use.
Major Filemon Tan, AFP Wesmincom spokesman, said they were found positive for illegal drugs use following a mandatory drug testing on personnel yesterday morning.
The drug testing was conducted through Task Force Moses from the AFP general headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Tan said the drug testing was done at Camp Navarro gymnasium where 373 officers and enlisted men, including civilian personnel of the Wesmincom underwent testing.
Tan said the three positive for illegal drug use will undergo a confirmatory test at a testing center duly accredited by the Department of Health.
“The Western Mindanao Command supports the anti-drug campaign of the Commander-in-Chief. WMC Commander Lt. Gen. Mayoralga M. dela Cruz emphasized that soldiers who are drug addicts/ users have no place in the AFP,” he said. (Francis T. Wakefield)
