LOVI AS CAREGIVER: While tasked to play wife to a man experiencing onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, Lovi Poe doesn’t forget the amount of goodness GMA network has shown her through the years.
It is primarily for this reason, Lovi says, that she decided to renew her contract with the network. On Tuesday, July 26, Lovi formally signed a new exclusive contract with the same network that first gave her a break in 2006. Her introductory role came by way of TV series “Bakekang.”
Lovi said she decided to stay put at GMA despite offers from the outside world for the simple reason that she’s quite content with the way her home network handled her career. In this new chapter in her 10 year-old acting career, Lovi says she wants more acting pieces, the better to challenge her. To start with she plays tormented wife to Tom Rodriguez in new teleserye “Someone to Watch over Me.”

ACTION ROLES, KISSING TOM: Next thing on her agenda, she told media, is to play action roles. “I don’t know, I must have inherited it from my dad (FPJ).”
Lovi said kissing Tom is one of the highlights of her work on the new soap, set to premiere in September. “He’s a good kisser,” she said matter of factly.
Quickly, she warned: “But that’s no reason for my good friend, Carla Abellana, to worry. Carla and I are such close friends, and we understand the demands of our work as actors.”
Lovi explained that as they play husband and wife in “Someone,” they try to act as husband and wife as naturally as possible. “Siempre, kasama na doon ang kissing every now and then, which happens quite often.”
The awarded actress has a sexy film coming up, “The Escort,” where she co-stars with Christopher de Leon and Derek Ramsay, from Regal Films. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
