Director General Ronald M. dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police, has ordered the resumption of police offensives following the order of President Duterte to lift the unilateral truce with communist rebels.
Dela Rosa has placed all police units across the country, especially in known rebel-infested areas, to be on high alert at all times for possible attacks.
“This pertains to the statement of President Duterte ordering for the immediate lifting of unilateral ceasefire. In this regard, a lifting of Suspension of Offensive Police Operations (SOPO) is hereby declared nationwide effective immediately,” said Dela Rosa.
The PNP chief had earlier ordered the SOPO which include the pursuit and rescue missions for the three policemen and a civilian employee who were abducted by communist rebels in Caraga.
