Newly-crowned World Boxing Organization bantamweight king Marlon Tapales is reporting back to his training headquarters in Cebu City this weekend.
Tapales, conqueror of Thailand’s Pungluang Sor Singyu last week in Ayutthaya, is currently spending some quality time with his family in Lanao del Norte.
But the vacation mode will be short-lived.
“I am going back to the gym this Saturday,” said the 24-year-old Tapales, who knocked out Sor Singyu in 11 rounds of electrifying action.
Tapales’ chief handler Wakee Salud is weighing options at the moment.
There is a standing offer to defend the WBO 118-lb crown sometime in November with ALA Boxing promoting.
But there is also that possibility that Tapales will return to the US to see action underneath a Manny Pacquiao headliner at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Nov 5.
