4:15 p.m. – Meralco vs Rain or Shine
7 p.m. – Ginebra vs Blackwater
Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is excited as the Elasto Painters resume their campaign in the PBA Governors’ Cup following a long break as they test the mettle of the Meralco Bolts today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
According to Guiao, the long break, which gave way to the PBA All-Star Weekend, opened an opportunity for ROS to make several adjustments, especially on offense with import Dior Lowhorn.
“We’re very eager, very excited to play again,” said Guiao yesterday. “We’re just hoping that we didn’t get rusty with the long break. We made use of the extra time to make some adjustments, mostly on offense.”
“We’re trying to establish our import, we’ll give him more decision on the ball. In our last game, we had to pull him out in the last minutes because he can’t make his free throws free throws.”
“We survive our last game without him, but not against Meralco, we’ll give Dior more touches and give him more confidence,” added Guiao.
Rain or Shine (2-1) takes on Meralco (2-2) in the curtainraiser at 4:15 p.m., while Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (3-1) tackles Blackwater (1-2) in the second game at 7 p.m.
Rain or Shine will face a Meralco side that has dropped its last two, first to TNT Katropa (95-98) and to Ginebra (93-107).
