DAVAO CITY – Three Chinese nationals serving time for drugs were killed inside a maximum security complex last August 14.
According to the Philippine National Police Regional Office, stabbed to death by two other inmates were Cu Kin Tung aka Tony Lim, 46, Li Lan Yan aka Jackson Li,54, and Wong Meng Pin aka Wang Ming Ping, 53.
The three Chinese nationals were stabbed by two inmates identified as Fernando Magdadaro, 48, of Brgy. Leon Garcia, Davao City, and Leopoldo Tan, 46, Sasa, Davao City.
According to Senior Inspector Irish Parangan, the two groups argued about a drug deal while inside the DPPF.
The families of the Filipino inmates were also threatened.
The Chinese nationals reportedly threatened the Filipino inmates while both groups were confined inside the disciplinary dormitory (bartolina).
Magdadaro and Tan were in the bartolina for disciplinary action.
The three Chinese men were also sent in the facility for being found to be in possession of cellphones around 3pm of August 13.
Police are currently investigating Cell No. 6, of the bartolina facility.
According to police, Magdadaro was charged for murder while Tan was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165.
The Chinese nationals were declared dead on arrival at the Southern Philippine Medical Center in Davao City.
The deaths of the Chinese nationals came in the time of a pronouncement of President Rodrigo R. Duterte of an all-out war against drugs. (YAS D. OCAMPO)
