Ceres-La Salle absorbed another blow to its title-retention bid after squandering a two-goal lead in a 2-all draw with Stallion on Wednesday in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Fitch Arboleda and Terrence Linatoc struck inside the last 20 minutes as Stallion came back to salvage a point against Ceres, which badly needed a win in order to catch up with league-leader Global in the title race.
The draw put Ceres five behind Global with 29 points after 13 matches, dropping to third in the table after the Loyola Meralco Sparks cruised to an 11-1 victory over Laos in the opener.
Jorrel Aristorenas scored a hat trick while Phil Younghusband and Jason de Jong added two goals apiece for Loyola, which moved into second place with 30 points after 13 matches.
Loyola is four off Global, which has a game at hand.
