Two administration lawmakers have aired fears for their lives as a result of the on-going war against drugs.
In separate privilege speech on Monday, Reps. Henry Oaminal (LP, Misamis Oriental) and Arnulfo Tevez (PDP-Laban, Negros Oriental) blamed politicians and dirty cops, for the threat on their lives.
Oaminal has appealed to President Duterte for protection from drug lords and their protectors, claiming that also at stake are the lives of family members and key supporters.
On the other hand, Teves, who admitted drug dependence for most part of his life, said a provincial governor and a certain Col. Nestor Tiempo have hatched a plan to implicate him in drug trafficking operations by planting guns and illegal narcotics in a supposed raid at his residence in Negros Oriental.
Quoting sources, Teves, who has boasted being clean of drug addiction in last 16 years, claimed that one of the suspects has recommended dropping the “raid plan” and instead have the congressman assassinated. (Ben Rosario)
