CAMP RUPERTO KANGLEON, Palo, Leyte – The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Eastern Visayas is now investigating members of the police force for their possible involvement in illegal drugs and other illegal activities.
Police 8 acting regional director Chief Supt. Elmer C. Beltejar, in a press statement, said they are now conducting validation and investigation of their personnel who might be linked to illegal drugs and other illegal activities.
Beltejars said the PRO8 assures the public that appropriate charges will be filed against the PNP personnel in Eastern Visayas if found guilty. Otherwise, they will undergo re-training to reshape their values and will be reassigned to other units.
“Tayo ay nagtatrabaho lang, walang personalan,” Beltejar added.
He said the PRO8 asks the public to fully support and trust the PNP while it continues to get rid of the “scalawags” in the police service. It also encourages the general public to support the PNP in the campaign against illegal drugs and provide relevant information immediately to the nearest police stations. (Nestor Abrematea)
