The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday that monsoon rains enhanced by typhoon “Dindo” (international name “Lionrock”) will continue to affect the western portion of Luzon, including Metro Manila, today.
The State weather bureau said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, and Ilocos region.
Dindo maintained its strength and continues to move slowly but still has no direct effect to the country.
As of 1 p.m. yesterday, PAGASA said Dindo was spotted 965 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 195 kph, moving east-northeast at seven kilometers per hour.
Dindo is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility within 48 hours. (Chito A. Chavez)
