Arellano and San Beda dumped their respective foes yesterday to keep their hold of top spot in NCAA Juniors basketball at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Braves exploded on the three-point zone and thrashed the Letran Squires, 107-77, while the defending champion Red Cubs overpowered the University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas, 93-81.
Arellano and San Beda improved their win-loss tallies to 12-1 to cement their seat at the helm.
Guilmer Dela Torre sizzled with 30 points highlighted by six treys, while dishing off four assists for the Braves, even as Aaron Fermin fired 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Carlo Abadeza also stepped up with 16 points and 12 boards for Arellano, which leaned on its 11 triples to dominate Letran.
Letran fell to 5-8 despite Kobe Monje and Rhayniel David scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, San Beda dominated Perpetual all throughout the game with Germy Mahinay, Joshua Tagala, Ry Dela Rosa and Evan Nelle conspiring with 44 of the team’s points.
They overshadowed the 24-point output of Jielo Razon for Perpetual, which eventually slipped to a 4-9 card.
