Doctors at the Valenzuela General Hospital are trying to save the life of a newborn baby who was dumped into a garbage can in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela.
The baby, whose heart-breaking image abandoned in a garbage can struck many netizens, was discovered last August 25 in front of the house of on e Bam Siao Lim at Jade Garden Townhomes, Barangay Marulas.
Doctors said baby was suffering from sepsis and cranial hemorrhage.
They believe that baby got the hemorrhage through the manner she was dumped in the garbage can, and the dirty environment that affected her wounded skin caused the sepsis.
“Baby Jade”, according to doctors, is still in comma.
As of press time, Mayor Rexlon “Rex” Gatchalian, said “Baby Jade” is still in critical condition and doctors informed him that she has a 50 percent chance to live.
“I’m deeply saddened by what they did to Baby Jade. Sana man lang iniwan na lang nila sa simbahan, at hindi sa basurahan,”
“Let us all pray that Baby Jade will survive this. Miracles do happen,” he said on a Facebook post.
For those who want to extend financial assistance to Baby Jade, they could contact City Social Welfare department head, Anabelle Pincas at 0929-3689241.
Gatchalian said that the financial assistance that would be collected will go to the shelter where she will be turned over once she recovers.
Gatchalian said that as of the moment, the local government of Valenzuela is shouldering the expenses for all the treatments of the baby. (Jel Santos)
