11:45 a.m. – Perpetual vs AU (Jrs.)
2 p.m. – Perpetual vs Arellano (Srs.)
4 p.m. – Mapua vs San Beda (Srs.)
Streaking Arellano U guns for its eighth consecutive victory even as San Beda aims to tighten its grip of the top spot when they collide with separate rivals today in NCAA men’s basketball at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Chiefs square off with the dangerous University of Perpetual Help Altas at 2 p.m. even as the Red Lions tangle with the Mapua Cardinals at 4 p.m.
While San Beda resides at the helm with an 11-2 win-loss record, focus will be on Arellano as it tries to extend its longest streak since joining the league in 2009.
The Chiefs are just half a game behind the Red Lions at 10-2 following their 83-74 triumph over Emilio Aguinaldo College last week.
Jio Jalalon is expected to banner Arellano anew after averaging 20.3 points a game, while Kent Salado and Lervin Flores are set to provide enough reinforcements with combined 23-point and 15-rebound average.
Perpetual, at solo third with 9-3, would not be unfazed and would lean on its key player Bright Akhuetie, who averages 16.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
Defensive help will also come from Prince Eze, who had 12 boards and two blocks in their 70-45 win over College of St. Benilde also last week.
Without Donald Tankoua due to injury, the Red Lions would be relying on their all-around offensive efforts, which will be led by Davon Potts, Javee Mocon and Radge Tongco.
San Beda would also be missing Antonio Bonsubre, who is serving a one-game suspension after taking part in a late-game melee in their match against Letran.
