President Duterte is willing to meet Moro National Liberation Front Chairman Nur Misuari in Malaysia for the sake of advancing peace and preventing more bloodshed in Mindanao.
The President bared that Misuari has proposed a meeting in Kuala Lumpur when they spoke on the phone last Tuesday night.
Duterte said he told Misuari that he was ready to meet him anywhere as the police have been directed not to enforce a pending arrest warrant against him.
“Yes, I said I can go to him,” the President said in a press conference at the Manila airport when asked if was amenable to Misuari’s proposed talks in Malaysia.
“Wala akong problema at this time, I cannot be too stringent in the matters that would affect whether or not we succeed. Kasi the most important thing really is that there is a dialogue going on kasi it has saved us a lot of money now that the threat is quiet in Mindanao,” he added. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
