BUTUAN CITY – To strengthen the fighting capability of the field units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Army’s Northeastern and Northern Mindanao 4th Infantry Division received war earth-moving equipments on Tuesday.
The command group of the 4th ID, along with field unit commanders received from the higher headquarters of the AFP a total of 43 KM450 1 ¼ Ton Troop Carrier Trucks and Ten KM 451 Ambulance.
The deployment of these war earth-moving equipment is part of the continuing mobility enhancement program of the Army and is a product of a Government-to-Government procurement between the Republic of the Philippines and South Korea.
These brand new vehicles will be deployed to various field units of the 4th ID’s advance command post (ACP) based at Camp Bancasi, Butuan City and Camp Edilberto Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City.
These vehicles can withstand the terrain and weather in the 4th ID areas of responsibility (AOR), Caraga and Northern Mindanao regions, where troops are being deployed in the hinterlands and mountainous area for the “Bayanihan” Team Activities (BTA) and rescue and relief operations.
Prior to its distribution to the end users, a technical inspection has been made to ensure the completeness of parts and accessories to ensure that all are functioning and will not compromise the safety of our troops and the success of every mission, he said.
