San Beda College-Rizal remained unbeaten in both the Small Basketeers Philippines and the Passerelle events to pace the Best Center’s twin basketball tournaments for kids, sponsored by Milo, over the weekend at the Xavier School gym.
The young Cubs smothered host Xavier-B (2-1), 53-37, to catch up with idle La Salle Greenhills-A on top of Group A of the SBP with three straight wins in as many days.
De La Salle-Zobel logged the other win – its first in three games, a 53-40 trashing of Notre Dame of Greater Manila (0-4).
Xavier-A made up for its sister team’s loss by crushing St. Mary’s College (0-4), 65-17, for a 3-0 record on top of Group B.
Lourdes School-QC (2-1) defeated Marist School (1-2), 55-49; and San Sebastian College (2-1) creamed La Salle Greenhills-B (1-3), 46-34, in the other matches.
DLSZ-A, meanwhile, caught up with idle Ateneo on top of Paserelle’s Group A at 4-0 with a 71-51 rout of Marist (1-3), while University of Santo Tomas looged its first win in three games with a 51-40 win over Claret (1-2).
Another San Beda squad remained unbeaten in Group B following its 51-42 trashing of Nazareth School of National University (2-1) at 3-0. It tied Adamson on top.
DLSZ (1-3) dropped Notre Dame (1-2), 67-62, while SSC-R (1-2) beat LSGH-B (0-3), 54-50, in the other matches.
