A 32-year-old mother was shot dead Tuesday night by two unidentified armed men while she was breastfeeding her four-year-old son inside their house in Tondo, Manila.
Police said they are gathering information to establish the motive behind the slaying of Carmelita Flores inside her home at 2194 I Delos Reyes Street, Tondo. She was shot in the head at close range.
Investigator SPO2 Christopher Nogoy said two gunmen barged into the house of Flores at about 2:15 p.m. and one of them shot Flores who was then lying on the living room sofa texting and breastfeeding her son.
It was learned that one of the assailants poked a gun at the 18-year-old son of Flores who was then resting outside the house before fleeing towards Old Antipolo Street.
Police recovered from the crime scene three fired cartridges of unknown caliber of firearm, a deformed bullet, and an Iphone 5s mobile phone with a bullet hole.
Meanwhile, a CCTV camera of Barangay 228 Zone 21 caught the fleeing suspects.
The gunman was seen wearing a blue and white shirt, a pair of black pants and a dark cap, while his cohort was wearing a red t-shirt, gray pants, black cap and a backpack.
Police probers said they are conducting follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and to identify and arrest the assailants. (Analou de Vera)
