Former Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” B. Coloma, Jr. assumed Manila Bulletin’s (MB) Executive Vice President post starting yesterday.
Born in Quezon City on March 28, 1953, Coloma is married to Nennette Parreno. The couple is blessed with a daughter, Anna Francesca.
Coloma obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines in 1973, Master’s degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in 1978, and Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Southeast Asian Inter-Disciplinary Development Institute in 2009.
He worked as Far East Bank and Trust Company’s Vice President from 1982 to 1988, Department of Transportation and Communications’ Undersecretary from 1989 to 1991, then from 1998 to 2000, Office of the President’s Presidential Management Staff Head from 1990 to 1991, and Loyola Plans Consolidated, Inc.’s Director starting 2005.
He also became the Transnational Diversified Group’s Director from 1996 to 2008, and Division President and Group Chief Learning Officer of the same firm from 2004 to 2008.
