Want to help protect President Duterte from death threats? Join the neighborhood watch.
Malacañang has proposed the formation of a neighborhood watch not only to help protect communities from lawless elements but also Duterte from those who plot to kill him.
The Presidential Security Group will provide “extraordinary steps” to enhance the President’s safety and protection but any assistance from the public would also be appreciated, according to Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Martin Andanar.
The Philippine National Police recently uncovered a plot to assassinate the President following the arrest of two members of a gun smuggling syndicate. The suspects claimed that a client has purchased several high powered weapons that would supposedly be used against Duterte.
