Television host and eventologist Tim Yap has said that rumors linking him to drugs are below the belt and unfair.
“Sa akin medyo below the belt na paratangan ako na nagbebenta ng droga,” said Yap, during a live interview on DZBB Super Radyo, the radio station of GMA 7, last Thursday morning.
“Hindi po porke’t nandoon ako sa party scene, hindi porke’t nasa bars ako at sa events, e, ako po’y nagsu-supply.
Hindi po totoo ito. For me, napakasakit, napaka-unfair. It’s something that na hindi ko inakalang ever maa-attach sa pangalan ko,” he said.
The television personality is said to be a business partner to some of the high-end bars in Metro Manila.
Yap also said that he is fit and healthy person. He added that he has no idea how his name was linked to illegal drugs.
He called on the public not believe what they have read online linking him to drugs.
“Sana maging mas matalino ang tao para hindi nila basta paniwalaan ang ababasa nila online,” Yap added.
He also said that he is willing to cooperate with the police in the campaign on drugs.
On working with PNP against drugs, Yap said: “Kami po ang nag-initiate ng meeting ng bar owners. Super cooperate.
Super coordinate. From before pa, we work with PDEA. ’Yung sinasabi ko sa’yong working with PNP, it’s a concerted effort. Hindi po kami lang.”
Asked about drugs surveillance, Yap said: “Okay lang may mag-surveillance sa akin dahil wala naman silang makikita.”
Yap also assured the public there are no drugs in his bars. “Bar owner po ako. Sigurado po ako dyan.”
