BEATING ASAP: Two of the main cast members of “Sunday PinaSaya” claim they still can’t believe their show continues to topple competition in ratings.
Ai-Ai de las Alas and Marian Rivera exclaim they didn’t imagine it could happen, but it just did. For the longest time, any Sunday noontime show aired side by side channel 2’s ASAP either changed titles or folded up after a few seasons, until this game-changer came along.
Credit goes to the program’s creative team led by Andrew del Real that has embarked on an alternative type of programming to level up with, topple competition.
Going comic has paved the way for GMA to regain supremacy on the Sunday noontime slot.

GOING ALTERNATIVE: According to GMA, “Sunday PinaSaya” continues to redefine the typical variety show via its comedy-musical format. The show recently won PEP List Year 3’s Comedy Show of the Year award.
The award came in just in the nick of time as SP celebrated its first anniversary last August.
The celebration marked the entry of new co-hosts and exciting, new segments.
Aside from Marian and Ai-Ai, SP’s bunch of singers and comedians include Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Andre Paras, Julie Anne San Jose, Jerald Napoles, Joey Paras, and Valeen Montenegro.
