Maine Mendoza, popularly known as Yaya Dub in the kalye-serye segment of noontime show “Eat Bulaga” on GMA 7, has denied rumors that she is in a secret relationship with a guy.
“What do you want to know about Miggy/us? The reason why I am not speaking about this matter is because whatever it is that you see/read on social media about us having a ‘secret relationship’ is not true–AT ALL,” said Mendoza, in her reply to anoynoymous user, during a chat with fans on Ask.fm, a social networking site, recently.
The fan was referring to a certain Miggy who is reportedly a non-showbiz guy. Mendoza encouraged her fans not to believe all the reports about her on social media.
“Here’s the thing.. Trolls will remain trolls; they can and will make up stories whenever they want and there is nothing we can do to stop them from making their lives less miserable,” she said.
Mendoza believes that there will be more intrigues hurled against her in the future.
“More issues and allegations will be thrown at me as I go along but for as long as I know the truth then I don’t see any reason for me to explain myself. It’s up to you if you are going to let yourself be deceived. (Tip: don’t) Don’t let them derail you,” she added.
* End of kalye serye?
At the same chat, a fan asked Mendoza when the kalye-serye would end.
Mendoza replied: “The end is near! As in ayan na tanaw na tanaw ko na!”
The kalye-segment of the noontime show debuted in July 2015 when fans tuned-in to the love story of Mendoza and actor Alden Richards via split screen image on the Kapuso network.
It became a smash both in live broadcast and social media. At its peak in September 2015, the segment broke records when it garnered 50.8 percent share of ratings.
On the couple’s 59th week-sary episode last September 1, Mendoza finally gave Richards her precious “yes” on live television.
“Ito ang tanong na matagal ko nang gustong tanungin: mahal mo ba ako?” Richards asked Mendoza.
Mendoza did not reply immediately. She sought the permission from her grandmother Lola Nidora played by Wally Bayola.
Nidora gave her her blessings.
“Maine, tinatanggap mo ba ako? Mahal mo ba ako, Maine? Mahal kita,” asked Richards.
“Oo, Alden, mahal din kita,” Mendoza replied, as fans screamed for their idols.
