Fans of NBA superstar LeBron James was left disappointed yesterday after his two-day tour of Manila was cancelled, presumably over security concerns that came after last week’s bombing in Davao City.
Nike said in a statement that the James’ third visit of the country was called off over logistical issues although the shoe company promised that the tour which would have started today with an event at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Due to logistical challenges Nike has made the difficult decision to cancel the Manila portion of LeBron James’ Asia tour. We apologize to all the fans in the Philippines and will look to reschedule the tour in the future,” Nike said.
“Thank you for your interest and support for the LeBron James Manila Tour 2016 media conference, and the Battle the Doubt Night event on 8 September at Araneta Coliseum. We look forward to working with you again soon.”
