A drug user, who was jailed for four years for drug possession, and his live-in partner were shot dead by motorcycle-riding armed men in Pasay City, early yesterday morning.
Police identified the victims as Jaylord Clemente, 33, and his partner Marlene Cortez, 33, residents of 6 Cessna St., Riverside Don Carlos Village, Barangay 190 Zone 20, Pasay City.
Clemente died on the spot from four gunshot wounds in the body while Cortez succumbed to four bullets wounds while being rushed to Pasay City General Hospital.
SPO1s Melvin Garcia and Dennis Desalisa of the Pasay City Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch said the incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. in front of the victims’ house.
Barangay officer Jesus Berbers told police he and fellow officials were inside the barangay hall when they heard successive gunshots outside.
When they went out to check, they saw two men on board a motorcycle speeding away from the scene.
They later found Clemente already dead on the pavement while Cortez was still moaning in pain.
Police said the family of Clemente admitted that he was a former drug user and was jailed for four years.
“Simula po nang makalabas siya ng kulungan tumigil na ito sa paggamit ng droga at nangangalakal na lamang ito ngayon” police said quoting the relative of Clemente who refused to be identified.
Police probers recovered from the crime scene four slugs from .45-caliber pistol and three slugs from 9mm pistol. (Jean Fernando)
