BACK HOME ON ABS-CBN: Fans who have long waited for Aga Muhlach’s return to work are happy to see him on the small screen at least.
Aga, the 90s ruling matinee idol turned topnotch drama actor started work last night, Sept. 10, as one of four judges on ABS-CBN’s newest talent-reality search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.”
He did not disappoint.
The show is in search of talented young teens who will make up the next ultimate Pinoy boyband. Before getting a slot to perform before the panel of judges, the boys are made to perform first before an audience of young girls. It’s like a test to their acceptability, says panel judge Yeng Constantino.
Vice Ganda and Sandara Park make up the two other judges on the panel.

BOYS WITH CHARM: In “Pinoy Boyband Superstar,” aspiring singing heartthrobs aged 14 and above with charm, singing talent, and great personality will get the chance to make their dreams come true by being a part of a five-member boyband.
Before facing the superstar judges, the aspiring boyband members have to woo 500 female fans and impress them with their sheer looks, talent, charisma, personality, and tricks.
To move on to the next round, they have to get a score of 75% or higher from the all-female audience. But aspirants who will score lower may be given a second chance by the superstar judges if they see potential in him.
The boyband journey continues when the aspiring heartthrobs face the judges and try to impress them not only with their looks but also with their singing prowess. Three or four votes from the superstar judges would mean that they are qualified to the next level of the competition.
“Pinoy Boyband Superstar” is hosted by Billy Crawford.
