VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – The provincial government of Ilocos Sur has set attractive events for the celebration of the World Tourism Week Festival from September 22-24.
Highlighting the festival are a street food festival from September 22-24, Ilocos Sur bicentennial logo making contest and extemporaneous tour guiding on September 22, Abel Yloco fashion show and tourism appreciation night on September 23, and street party on September 24.
Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis V. Singson said the events for the World Tourism Week Festival in the province are considered as the pre-load for the 200th anniversary celebration of Ilocos Sur in 2018.
“Our attractive One Town, One Product will be showcased during the festival to attract visiting tourists,” Singson added.
“We came up with these new set of activities to focus more on what the province can offer and everyone will be able to feel that they are a part of these,” said Tourism Officer Ryan Astom.
According to Astom, contestants in the extemporaneous tour guiding contest should familiarize and abreast of information regarding the different tourist spots and historical sites in the province. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
