Two South Korean nationals wanted for murder and fraud were arrested in separate operations in Manila and Pampanga by agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the fugitives as 50-year-old Jang Te Wen, who was collared in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City, and 55-year-old Yoon Sung Ki, who was nabbed at the Midas Hotel in Manila.
Morente said both Koreans were apprehended a few days ago after weeks of intensive surveillance by elements from the BI fugitive search unit (FSU).
He added that the aliens will be sent back to Korea as soon the bureau secures the clearances required for their deportation.
“Both of them will be deported for posing a risk to public interest and for being undesirable aliens,” Morente said.
Jang has been on the BI’s wanted list since June last year when a summary deportation order and arrest warrant was issued against him by the BI board of commissioners.
Jang is wanted for stabbing to death a man who had an affair with a married woman. (Jun Ramirez)
