Actress-singer Jenine Desiderio has requested the fans of her daughter actress Janella Salvador to stop sending her live pets or animals as gifts because they could not take care of them anymore.
Desiderio aired the appeal through her Facebook account recently.
“Attention: can all of you please stop giving Janella live pets/animals as gifts bec she DOES NOT personally take care of them. The unwelcome responsibility of taking care of them ends up on the unwilling laps of her housemates – – that’s us;
“So please…. I love animals but i can’t take care of so much. This is also one of the reasons our helpers don’t last long. Again, please. I miss living in a house that smells good, not taken over by animals taken for granted by a busy owner,” Desiderio said.
The “Miss Saigon” alumna said that “these animals will still need human care even in a bigger house.”
Desiderio said: “1, 2 or maybe even 3 pets are ok. But we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond that.”
Some of her daughter’s fans wanted to adopt the pets. But she pointed out that her household is not disposing of these animals. They will just stop accepting, she said.
“We are not disposing. Just not accepting. The ones with us have of course become attached to us. We just have to live with the conditions their presence brings. That’s why..no more. Di na namin kaya,” Desiderio said.
Salvador, 18, currently stars in the primetime teleserye “Born For You” on ABS-CBN. Her father is Juan Miguel Salvador. Juan Miguel and Janine separated when Janella was only three years old.
Janella rose to fame when she debuted in the teleserye “Be Careful With My Heart” on ABS-CBN from 2012 to 2014. She later appeared in other television shows and movies.
