Mark Magsayo, one of ALA Boxing’s fastest rising stars, found himself in the ring with a lethal-hitting sparring partner recently at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
Not the type to pass up on the rare opportunity of working with a reigning world champion, the unbeaten Magsayo banged bodies with Argentine knockout king Jesus Cuellar, the current WBA 126-lb titlist and holder of a 28-1 win-loss record with 21 KOs.
According to top trainer Edito Villamor, who has been presiding over the training of Magsayo and two other Filipinos seeing action on Sept. 24 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, the workout turned out great and beneficial.
“The three of them are ready to fight,” said Villamor yesterday. (NG)
