TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Joint operatives from the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have uprooted anew an estimated P96 million worth of Marijuana plants in Kalinga province since early this week.
Tinglayan police chief Senior Inspector Nestor Lopez said the latest Marijuana eradication operation was done at Mt. Chalanap in Loccong village of Tinglayan, Kalinga province.
The operating lawmen have uprooted at least 385,500 fully – grown Marijuana in 29.750 – hectare plantation site in Mt. Chalanap.
The lawmen also discovered around 150 kilograms dried Marijuana leaves from the plantatation site.
Based on the standard set by the Dangerous Drug Board (DDB), Lopez said the total estimated worth of the destroyed Marijuana plants this week is P96 million.
Adding this, the drive against marijuana plantations in this province have already breached the P5-billion mark since president Rodrigo Duterte assumed office in July 1. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
