At a time where women’s roles seem obscure due to issues involving peace and order in the society, an art exhibit which focuses on womanhood will open in a gallery near the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City today.
Dubbed “An Art Exhibit About Womanhood,” the exhibit will showcase the works of UP alumna and educator Edith Caoile together with her sons Michael Joseph and Martin.
The mother and her sons’ art exhibit will be held at the Gallery Start 101 located at the entrance to the gate of University of the Philippines Diliman. The exhibit opens at 6 p.m. and will run until October 1.
“The voice of women should be heard even not through written words but in visual colors and dimensions of forms and shapes through my art,” said Edith.
Caoile is a graduate of UP College of Fine Arts, College of Education, Child Development, and Fine Arts and Art Education. She is also a graduate of the Art Institute of California, SF with Graphic Design. (Ina Hernando Malipot)
