The Philippine National Police is not inclined to investigate the alleged involvement of some policemen in the alleged Davao Death Squad as revealed during the Senate investigation on extrajudicial killings.
Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesman, said there is no reason so far to initiate an investigation since the names mentioned by hitman and witness Edgar Matobato could not be corroborated so far.
“First of all, the Chief PNP (Director General Ronald dela Rosa) said that there is no Davao Death Squad. It’s only hearsay, the basis is not a signed affidavit,” said Carlos. (Aaron B. Recuenco)
