After several changes, the coronation night of the Miss World Philippines (MWP) 2016 beauty pageant will be staged at the Manila Hotel on Sunday, October 2.
This was announced by Cory Quirino, franchise director of Miss World Philippines.
Also, the MWP Gala Night will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Enderun College Tent, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City at 6 p.m.
Quirino also said that reigning Miss World Mereia Lalaguna of Spain and Mr. World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal of India will not be able to join the judges panel during the finals.
But the two titleholders will visit the Philippines on Oct. 9 to 11 for the “Beauty with the Purpose” charitable activities.
“They will devote their time to charitable institutions,” she said.
Quirino said that Lalaguna and Khandelwal will visit the Philippine General Hospital and Tuloy Streetchildren Foundation.
Twenty-five candidates are competing in this year’s pageant. Hillarie Parungao is the reigning Miss World Philippines. The finals be broadcast live on GMA 7.
The winner will represent the Philippines at the Miss World 2016 beauty contest in Washington, D.C., USA.
The Miss World beauty pageant is the longest-running pageant in history.
