Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said yesterday controversial inmate Jaybee Sebastian will no longer be presented in the House of Representatives investigation into the illegal drugs trade at the National Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.
Aguirre said Sebastian refused to divulge all on his role in the illegal drugs trade at the NBP where he was figured out to be the “most powerful and dreaded leader” during the time of then justice secretary and now Sen. Leila de Lima.
Earlier, Aguirre had said Sebastian will appear in the House probe although the secretary said he was not sure what would be the details of the inmate’s testimony.
In a press conference, Aguirre said: “I was told that Jaybee only wants to limit his testimony to anomaly in food supply there (in NBP). I rejected it because he will not speak of the entire truth.”
“Thus, there is no need for him to testify because the testimonies of the other inmates were already clear. I don’t see any reason for Jaybee to still appear there (House probe),” the justice secretary said. (Rey Panaligan)
