CAMP OLIVAS, San Fernando City, Pampanga – A suspected drug pusher was killed by policemen in a shootout in Barangay Arayat Blvd., Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Wednesday.
Senior Supt. Sidney Villaflor, Angeles City police director, identified the suspect as Mark Leo Francia Lansang, alias “Dumug,” 28, married, jobless, of Anselmo St., Purok 1, Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.
Villaflor said Lansang pulled out a gun when he sensed he was dealing with the Station Anti-Illegal Drug Unit of the Angeles City Police Office Police Station 5 that was conducting an undercover anti-drug operation against him.
Lawmen shot the suspect who died on the spot while his three companions escaped.
Recovered from the suspect were one caliber .38 revolver loaded with four fired cartridge cases and one live ammunition, one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately five grams with estimated street value of P16,000, and marked money.
Meanwhile, a drug suspect was killed while two others were arrested in anti-drug operations conducted by the police in Tarlac.
Jun Castro, alias “Burdado,” was shot and killed in an encounter at La Vista Subdivision in Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City at around 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 26.
Senior Supt. Westrimundo D. Obinque, acting Tarlac Police Provincial Office chief, said two other drug suspects were arrested in separate buy bust operations in the province.
Nick Castillo Lapitan was arrested in San Clemente on September 27 while Marcos Pangilinan Mina, listed as the No. 1 drug personality in the province, was arrested in Barangay Bulu, Victoria, Tarlac. (Franco G. Regala)
